Chapter 24
Alex's POV
As I stirred the porridge on the stove, the aroma filled the kitchen, creating a comforting and soothing atmosphere. I couldn't help but think about Nathan and his absence from the mansion. Despite everything that had happened, I still cared about him deeply, and his well-being was important to me.
Once the porridge was ready, I poured it into a bowl and carefully carried it to Nathan's room. Knocking softly on the door, I waited for a response before entering.
Nathan was lying in bed, looking pale and exhausted. His eyes lit up as he saw me holding the bowl of porridge. "Alex, you didn't have to do this. I can take care of myself."
I approached him and placed the bowl on the nightstand. "I know you're capable, Nathan, but I wanted to do something for you. Consider it a gesture of goodwill."
He looked at me, gratitude shining in his eyes. "Thank you, Alex. I appreciate it."
