Chapter 11. Dangerous

Anna got to work just in time. Lucien had stopped his car right outside her office. He had snaked his fingers behind her neck and pulled her in, leaving her with a soft kiss before getting out of the car and getting the door for her.

Anna walked into her team’s office hallway, and her manager glanced up but didn’t say a word. Victory.

Then she heard it—a voice she hadn’t heard in weeks. It was Kel talking to an intern.

“Look who finally came back.”

Kel spun around and grinned. “Anna,” Kel went and hugged her. “I missed you, girl.”

Anna exhaled and smiled wider than she had all week. “Same, Kel, same.”

“No, you didn’t. Don’t lie to me.” Kel grabbed her arm and hastened to their office to be away from their manager’s monitoring eyes.
