Anna shook her head. “I can’t go shopping without them. We’ve been planning this forever. It’s supposed to be our girls’ day out, and we plan to visit a spa after and all that...”

“Then do that with them when the time comes. But for now, I don’t want there to be a reason I can’t take you out for dinner.” He still played with her hair.

“Nah. I’ve saved up just enough for one girls’ day out with them. If I go shopping without them tomorrow, I have to start saving up again to go with them and...”
