Chapter 17. Lover's Quarrel?

"Eat," Cadence said as she placed all of the food she had prepared. I was hesitant to sit down at first, but the way she smirked earlier was a bit of a warning for me to just follow everything she wanted me to do.

I sat down and silently filled my plate with the food she served me. She's also eating quietly, but not until we both looked at each other at the same time. She raised an eyebrow at me like she was asking me what I wanted from her, and so I shook my head once.

This is embarrassing.

I've been in this kind of situation twice, and both of those were sudden one-night stands, but then I always ended up alone in a hotel room and was only left with a note saying that they had "fun" with me last night. So this thing was new to me, I guess.
