I didn’t want to shower in a public place, I just wanted something small with friends and family at the house.

Something quiet. Something that felt real.

Not the cameras. Or the paparazzi that always managed to find a way in no matter how hard we try to keep them away.

The shower was about to start.

The house was already decorated and soft music echoed from the speakers. I smiled as I walked down the stairs. The aroma of the freshly baked pastries coming from the kitchen made me chuckle.

God. Everything was so perfect.

Noah and Liam ran downstairs, pulling me into a warm hug. Everyone was excited about the new baby. I spoke to them for a while before they ran into the kitchen to grab their food.

Patrick wasn’t at the house, he still had to run a few more errands.

I sat down on the couch and pulled out my phone.

Then I called Alexis. She was meant to catch an early flight to New York. I
