Chapter 5. The Wolf and the Man
Mark stared at his new form in confusion. He ran away as far as his hind legs could carry him, and when he saw a clearing, he slowed down. As if on cue, he began to change back to his original form. He lay on the ground, spent and tired from everything. His heart pounded violently against his rib cage, and for the first time in his life, he was genuinely scared of what he had become.
He had heard many tales while growing up about how vile and wicked wolves were, and now he was beginning to wonder if he was also wicked. He was not sure if it would be wise to tell his father about what had just happened, especially since the man harbored a lot of hate for the species.
