Not that I'm unhappy. Simply experimenting.

Even though I knew he'd be late again, I cooked dinner in the evening. I set the table properly and prepared what I cooked on it.

I made the decision to wait for him. To pass the time, I sat on the sofa and watched TV. He had not arrived by eight o'clock in the evening.
