Chapter 85. Mark’s Visit

Dave felt very heavy and he tried to shake off all the thoughts that were going through his mind but to no avail. He tried concentrating on his work but it kept distracting him. He sighed and rested his head backwards on the couch.

Why was he feeling this way all of a sudden? He thought everything was fine and just a few moments ago he was fine and okay. This was not good.

He heard Jane walking in and pretended to be very busy with his laptop.

“Hi Dave, you working?” Jane asked cheerfully as she approached him.

“Yeah,” he replied shortly.

“Uhm, are you okay?”

“Yeah.”

“Okay…are you very busy? I could just come back later.” She said. He sighed and looked at her.

“I am not very busy. What do you want to tell me?” he said and the cheerfulness left her face. Was he being cold to her? She decided not to jump to conclusions. He might be having a bad day.
