Chapter 90. Unseen Walls

Isabella looked intently at Alexander who had been seated in the study room for several hours in thoughts. She sighed worriedly. She opened her mouth to speak but closed it back again. She entered into the room fully and sat on the couch.

Her son, Alan, followed her into the room, jumping playfully.

“Hey baby,” Isabella found herself whispering because of the tensed silence that was in the room which Alexander had been sitting in for hours.

“Mummy is daddy okay?” Alan asked with a finger in his mouth, looking towards the direction of his father.

“Yes baby, he is,” Isabella replied with a small smile in her face. “He is just…” She looked at Alex and back to her son. “Daddy is just tired. He’s been working all day.”

Alex had his face buried in his palms. He did not even make any move to look towards them.

“I am hungry mum,” Alan told her.

“You are? But you just ate not long ago.” Isabella shook her head at him.
