Chapter 92. Painful Death
“Since when did this happen?” Alexander could not recognize his own voice as he spoke. It felt like there was a restriction in his vocal chords that was affecting the flow of words.
“It’s not been long since we got the call and called you,” the detective that had called him earlier told him. He was now standing next to a completely shaken Alexander.
Alexander had placed a call to Dave on his way here and with total ignorance; oblivious to what had happened, called Bob as well.
He had no idea what he had been called for. The detective had only told him something urgent had happened. Bob had warned him not to trust such things especially as they were dealing with someone like Maxwell.
But Bob had not picked his call. Murmuring under his breath why Bob had been unavailable the past few days, he left a voice message for him. Unfortunately, there was no need for that. Bob was lying lifeless a few paces before him.
