Chapter 21. Shaken

Isabella’s eyes met those of the man behind Jasmine, his hands held a gun now pointed towards her back.

“I won’t repeat myself again, Jasmine.”

Jasmine clicked her tongue, throwing one last hateful glare at her hostage before slowly lifting her hands.

“Good. Now turn around.”

She did so very reluctantly. With her hands now in the air, her fingers gripped the knife which was directed towards Isabella a few minutes ago with the sole interest of slitting open her throat.

“Drop your weapon very slowly. Any sudden moves, and I’ll shoot,” the man threatened.

It seemed his words rang true in Jasmine’s head as she did exactly as instructed, dropping the knife with a clang.

“Jasmine Thorne, you’re under arrest for attempted murder, stalking, and trespassing on private property. Anything you say or do will be used against you in a court of law. You have a right to a lawyer, and if you don’t have one, the state will provide one for you.”
