Chapter 23. A Sprinkle of…Cordiality?
Isabella groaned, cursing the universe for a fate worse than death itself. This couldn’t be happening.
“I think the universe is out to get me,” she whined as the sharp kitchen knife in her hand began chopping the vegetables quite forcefully. “Out of every news I could’ve gotten today, I got so unlucky to get this one?”
Alexander, who was now used to her dramatics, simply sat back and watched her work.
They were going to the same dinner, but unlike her, he wasn’t expressing his dislike for that idea loudly while holding a dangerous object.
Alexander eyed her.
“My parents would point out a million and one things wrong with my dress, and that will be at the first quarter of the dinner,” she slammed the knife down.
