Chapter 28. Strangers
“Did I do something wrong?” Isabella jogged after Alexander, a sad attempt to keep up with his large strides.
“No.”
They were back to one-word replies or no replies at all. Great.
“Come on, Alexander. If I did something wrong, you have to tell me.”
This time, he ignored her statement, taking the stairs two at a time. It was obvious, even to a blind man, that Alexander was desperately trying to get away from her.
He had set his alarm an hour before the usual time, getting dressed quickly before rushing to leave.
Isabella was more than ready, pacing in her room and listening for any sounds.
At the creak of his door, she leaped out, attempting to corner him. Unfortunately for him, he now had to deal with the questions.
