Chapter 29. The Accident
Isabella wished she could swivel in the opposite direction, far from the impending conversation, which, in all honesty, had a ninety percent chance of going downhill.
Unfortunately, she was a grown woman and needed to meet her difficulties head-on. That last quote was gotten from a motivational talk she had stumbled into while scrolling through her phone earlier.
And it had greatly contributed to her spur-of-the-moment decision to confront Alexander.
He was currently relaxed on the couch, laptop placed on his thighs, documents scattered around him, a pen in one hand, a furrowed brow, and eyes glued to the screen in concentration.
This was probably the worst time, but Isabella refused to back off. Her decision was made, and it’d take a great intervention from some divine entity to change her mind.
Her footsteps were barely audible as they slapped against the tiled floor, baggy clothes hugging her body and her feet bare, devoid of any protection.
