Chapter 180. Refreshing Friendship Outing
The bar was a cozy refuge from the weight of Isabella’s lingering grief. The dim lighting, the soft hum of conversation, and the clinking of glasses created a backdrop that allowed her to momentarily forget her sorrows.
She drank away but cautiously as well so she would not get drunk. It was not like before when she was single and she and Jane would come to the bar and drink themselves silly when they were out to have fun. Isabella was a mother now. And if not for the tragic incident, she would have been a mother of two.
Jane who had always been the life of any gathering, was already in high spirits. She leaned across the table, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
“So, Isabella, you won’t believe the week I’ve had at work,” she began, her voice loud so she could be heard above the music. “I landed two new modeling contracts, and they’re making waves despite that stupid scandal with Frederick.”
