Hadley was stiffed hearing the man's words, and she kept telling herself that she heard it wrong and that Maurice did not say that, but she knew it was the truth. She did not hear it wrong.

A new surge of excitement gushed through Hadley's body as the realization of what she just heard. The man just confessed his love for her, but it was not to just her but to the whole family that was present at the table.
