Chapter 71

Hadley looked at Maurice keenly and she almost laughed out loud but seeing the man's weary eyes were not holding signs of jokes she decided to spell it out. 

"What? You really meant it?" Hadley asked and Maurice nodded his head. 

"Yes, I want to have kids with you," he says and Hadley looks at him rather weirdly. 

"But why now? Why all of a sudden?" Hadley asked, and she watched as the man got drowsy as his eyes were closing back gently on their own and she knew the effect of the anesthesia must not have worn out.

"It's just that when…I felt my life slipping away from me…I think.." Maurice was saying but he fell asleep without finishing up his words and Hadley panicked thinking it was something else.

She rushed to call a doctor and Maurice was attended to and his family also came to the hospital after hearing that he had worked up.

After the doctors attended to him they made sure to keep him sedated so he could get enough rest.
