Chapter 10

Audrey stood up and quickly rushed out of his office. She walked past Maya, who wouldn’t stop glaring at her. If only looks could kill; Audrey would be six feet under already. Audrey entered the elevator and breathed out a sigh of relief.

One moment, her mother-in-law was acting so kind, and the next, she became so harsh. Her mind went to the picture, and she frowned, thinking about who the little girl could be. ‘Does he have a daughter?’ she thought as she walked out of the elevator.

“She went to the boss floor.”

“She looks so beautiful.”

“Maybe she’s the boss’s sister or his wife.”

Audrey walked out of the company and boarded a cab back home. She met her mother-in-law on the phone with someone, but when she entered, the woman hung up and smiled at her. “How was it?” she asked.

“He told me to leave.”
