Chapter 12. Anger

James’ POV

After Ellie’s display, I stormed out of the place. Frustrated at her, I got into my car and drove off.

Although I had a meeting at the restaurant, I had to bail and reschedule it. I wasn’t in the right head space and I don’t want to fuck this gig up.

I drove out of the place and headed for a nearby bar. Heading there was a great idea plus I don’t think driving in this state is any good.

I arrived there shortly after and ordered a round. I drank a bit and it seemed to be working as I started feeling relieved.

The alcohol effect kicked in and as much as I wanted to leave I was skeptical as I knew cops flooded the streets.

So I proceeded to the VIP area so I could have some privacy and wait for the drowsiness.

A few minutes later I was feeling the effect wear off so I knew it was time.

I proceeded to go out and drove to work.

But I forgot I just ditched a meeting.
