Chapter 11. The Castle

Lexcis Aeden

She turns to face me before she lifts her chemise-like thing.

Chantel is looking up at the sky again, and I follow her gaze, just like I did earlier.

"Don't think I don't hate you anymore. My hate for you exceeds every other emotion I could possibly feel," she suddenly says.

Slowly her face turns to me, her hand reaching up, and for a second, I thought she was reaching for me.

Chantel places a dry cloth underneath her cheek and reaches closer to me. I can now feel her breath on my neck, her head sloping on my collarbone.

"Since you won't be alive for much longer, it doesn't really matter what I tell you," she mumbles.

I feel some anger rising in me, but her breaths crashing against my neck are enough to calm me down.
