Chapter 11. The Castle

She turns to face me before she lifts her chemise-like thing.
Chantel is looking up at the sky again, and I follow her gaze, just like I did earlier.
"Don't think I don't hate you anymore. My hate for you exceeds every other emotion I could possibly feel," she suddenly says.
"Hmm, then why are you being so honest with me? I don't think you ever said those things to anyone else before," I ask, raising an eyebrow curiously.
Slowly her face turns to me, her hand reaching up, and for a second, I thought she was reaching for me.
Chantel places a dry cloth underneath her cheek and reaches closer to me. I can now feel her breath on my neck, her head sloping on my collarbone.
"Since you won't be alive for much longer, it doesn't really matter what I tell you," she mumbles.
I feel some anger rising in me, but her breaths crashing against my neck are enough to calm me down.
