Chapter 12. Dark and Empty

I'm still lying on my left side of the bed with my back against Laurence. Of course, the empty side.
It doesn't matter how many women have been in this room; I never let them stay longer than they have to. You can call me rude, but I need some space.
"It is raining," I mumble, noting the weather.
“Lexcis, we don't have time for jokes. Stand up!" Laurence orders, a sense of urgency in his voice.
I quickly get out of bed and turn around. "If you scream like that again, you'll wake her." I laugh, pointing towards Chantel's door.
"Why does it matter to you that she sleeps well?" he inquire, a hint of curiosity in his tone. “I secretly hope she has all the worst dreams possible.”
"Stupid, it doesn't matter to me! She'll come with you if she hears you, though.”
He rolls his eyes and walks out of the room.
"Get dressed and hurry!" He whispe
