Chapter 103. Hunter and Holly
Hunter’s POV
Holly dragged me down to the old house near the ocean. I already knew what to expect when I got there—either I would see her mother or father, and both of them hated my guts.
As I opened the door, what a surprise… Both of them.
Holly’s mother nearly dropped her jug of water on the ground; she was making supper for the family, and she probably wasn’t expecting me to show up out of nowhere.
The old man sighed and looked at me, “I half expected you to be dead, Hunter.”
“The old priest said the exact same thing to me. Do I look like I have a death flag or something?” I wondered. I knew I could be reckless at times, but I wouldn’t throw my life away while fighting anymore. At least not anymore; I’ve seen the value in my life thanks to Charlotte, and I would never fight without considering the future again.
“Papa, Mama, Hunter’s going to stay with us again for some time; he has business with the Council,” said Holly.
