Chapter 49. Wedding Plans

Dinner seemed to go by too quickly, and Willow couldn’t concentrate on what Zoey said. Luckily, Veronica wasn’t there for dinner, so Willow could relax. But her mind kept circling back to the subject of Max’s proposal.

Even after Zoey had fallen asleep, Willow’s mind was still fixated on discussing the matter. She hesitated but didn’t want to put it off any longer. Finally, she looked for Max but couldn’t find him in the garden, on the patio, or in the reading room.

Willow decided to try Max’s room. Cautiously, she knocked on the door.

“Max?” Willow called out.

There was no answer.

“Max?”

Willow thought that maybe Max had left after dinner. As she turned, the door to Max’s room opened. Max appeared, holding a towel as he dried his hair.

“Willow?” Max seemed surprised.

“Am I disturbing you?”

“Not at all.”

Max opened the door wider, allowing Willow to enter the room. Willow looked at the door and decided to leave it open.
