Chapter 45. The Plans

Jemima climbed the stairs, completely ignoring Randolph and Barton. Randolph’s arm was immediately seized by his father, who was deeply offended by Jemima’s words.

“No,” Barton warned, shaking his head.

Randolph hissed, “I’ll tear that woman apart.”

“Not now.”

Barton stepped ahead of Randolph to meet Reeve in his office. Outside the office, Randolph opened the door for his father. Both men entered Reeve’s room and sat beside Kyler’s brother.

“What’s our plan?” Barton asked.

“To get the child back from Goodwinson, of course. Kyler is in our hands, so there’s nothing to worry about,” Reeve replied.

“Doesn’t Goodwinson have an alliance with other packs?” Randolph muttered, his hand on his chin. “We should consider the possibility that they might strike back.”

“True, but it’s better if we strike first,” Reeve said, smiling optimistically. “After the serum is perfected, any pack that opposes us will eventually kneel.”
