Chapter 48. Meet Up with Shawn
When Willow arrived, Shawn was waiting in a diner, casually scrolling through his phone. After a brief phone call two days ago, Willow and Shawn had decided to meet. The detective made a point of coming to Cottonhill, and they talked over lunch.
“Good afternoon, Detective,” Willow offered her hand.
Shawn shook Willow’s hand. “I hope you’re well, Mrs. Anberlin.”
“All right for now, maybe. Who knows about another day.”
Willow half complained, then sat down across from Shawn. Her eyes scanned the menu; she needed a lot of food, anything with carbohydrates and glucose, at least to alleviate the excessive anxiety and suspicion she felt these days.
After ordering their food, they began to talk earnestly in the middle of their lunch break.
“Are you being followed?” Willow asked.
“Followed? You should ask yourself that.
