Chapter 85. Veronica’s Order
Willow was about to go back inside after escorting Shawn to the terrace when Shawn suddenly signaled by placing his index finger on his lips.
“What’s up, Detective?” Willow, who had been holding back her anger since earlier, asked.
“I need to talk to you, Mrs. Anberlin.”
“Didn’t we just talk in there?”
Frankly, Willow didn’t want to hear any excuses from Shawn. At the very least, Willow felt betrayed by the detective, whom she thought they both disliked Veronica.
“Can you come with me to the car and talk?” asked Shawn.
Willow looked around; there were guards watching, but they couldn’t overhear their conversation. Finally, Willow nodded and followed Shawn to the car.
“I know you must be surprised that I gave Mrs. Mayor information,” Shawn said.
“More like disappointed and angry.” Willow crossed her arms.
“Yeah, you better keep that angry expression on, so the guards know we’re in a confrontation.”
