She had collapsed, and although one of the guards was going to help her, I was about to leave. Lion stopped me.
“You better stay out of this; you’ve done enough already,” he said and held my arm tightly. Our voices were barely audible in the angry crowd that was talking at the same time.
“Yes, you don’t care,” I said contemptuously.
“Your lover can’t be trusted, and you know it,” Lion began to say with his typical noble and honorable face.
“How do you know that?” I asked, looking at him out of the corner of my eye.
“Because I wouldn’t go out with you if I were any good, that’s for sure,” he replied with a sarcastic tone. “You’ll not move from here; the king has ordered me to stop you if you intend to interrupt the hearing with your mad deeds.”
“Did Jacob tell you that? What a lie! You’re only doing this to annoy me,” I muttered, getting more and more annoyed.
