Chapter 168. A Forgotten Task
DOVE
“Majesty.”
The knock on the door woke me up from the deep sleep I had fallen into. My due date was in a few months, and I did not know why, but sometimes I felt extremely exhausted. Sleep had overtaken me, and I needed to doze a bit to replenish my energy.
I took Nicolas in my arms and kissed him on the forehead; he was so good that he did not even cry often. He had eyes that seemed to change with time; sometimes, they looked green, sometimes honey-colored. His hair was dark and curly, and he smiled often.
“Mirna asked to speak to you; she said remembering her promise.” The guard who was standing at the door to my room began to say.
“The queen is already too busy, don’t you think?” Lion asked, annoyed at having to receive even more visitors.
Having to live in this room to survive was beginning to overwhelm him.
“She insisted, Your Highness; she wants to see you urgently,” the man said resignedly. “If you wish, I can ignore her.”
