Chapter 73
Cassandra’s POV
I was in the middle of a peaceful dream when Alexa’s violent outburst shook me to consciousness. It only took my brain a second to figure out that Alexa was crying downstairs, and a couple more seconds for me to dash down.
“It’s mother,” she yelled immediately she saw me dashing down the stairs, “she won’t stop.”
Alexa’s mother was convulsing terribly hard. Her face had turned pale, and her lips were dry and cracked. It was a terrible sight, and it took Alexa’s yell to snap me out of my shocked reverie.
“Do something,” she yelled.
I was bereft of thought, and too confused to thin. She was thrashing so hard that the bed had begun to shake. I dashed to her side, trying to hold her down from falling over the bed.
“What are we going to do?” Alexa’s voice dripped with panic and confusion. I tried to remain calm, but I was just as confused as she was. I had no idea what to do, and my panic steadily increased.
