Chapter 13. A Deadly Fight

Alexander dragged himself on the next day. He had to go for his fight on Saturday and didn’t know what excuse to make to avoid Serenity’s questions. After work, when he returned, Serenity came down to his apartment with food that aunt Eugene had sent.

They sat down to eat together. “Lex, where did you go yesterday? I waited for your call.”

“To the shopping centre. I had some essentials to buy.” He hoped she wouldn’t ask him to show what he bought, and she didn’t, making him breathe a sigh of relief.

“Next time, I too want to go with you.”

“Sure.”

They finished their food while discussing Liam and his latest crush at his school. Alexander chuckled as Serenity continued with her vivid description of a girl who had come home to study with Liam. Dinner was over, and Serenity returned home after giving him his kisses. He loved to kiss her and never missed an opportunity. It gave him the energy to go on, made him feel loved.
