Chapter 17
"Hi Ricky! How did you know my name?" Tanya asks and grimaces, she must have realized too late how stupid her question is.
"You're wearing a name tag." Ricky chuckles. Damn, even his laugh is attractive.
"Sorry about that, I thought you were a psychic or something." Tanya's attempt at levity is weak and I close my eyes in second hand embarrassment.
"You're the first contestant to show up, I admire your punctuality," Ricky says and Tanya blushes.
"Thank you, and I admire you— I mean, I admire your cooking talent."
Ricky chuckles. He has a good sense of humor; I love that.
"You know, I'm an amazing cook myself. I remember my first attempt at cooking, it was a piece of cake and the food turned out perfect; that's how I knew I was a born pro," Tanya boasts.
"I can't wait to see you in action and taste your perfect food," Ricky says, smiling. He seems really impressed, I hope Tanya doesn't screw this up.
