Chapter 5. Who Is She?

Marcus’s POV

She really did it.

I never thought Amelia would sign those papers but she did. I asked my lawyer to get the papers ready when she travelled abroad, but I was waiting for the perfect opportunity before I handed them over to her.

Rose was so excited to see Amelia walk out of the mansion with a copy of the papers, but I wasn’t because something didn’t sit right with me. If there was anyone who was supposed to walk out, it was supposed to be me and not Amelia.

She would be nothing without me, so why would she…

“We need to celebrate this!” Rose shrieked excitedly, and her voice snapped me back to reality. We were now back inside the mansion, and the guests had all exited the house.

“Celebrate what?”

“We have finally managed to get rid of that witch and it’s worth celebrating. Plus, this is our opportunity to finally be seen together in public.” The excitement in her tone made it so difficult for me to hear her properly.
