Chapter 11. Don’t Ever Touch Her
Marcus’s POV
“Those damn Knights!” Father growled as he gritted his teeth angrily, “they just had to get involved.”
We were at the dinner table and everyone was present except for my sister who for some reason, had been absent from family gatherings like this for as long as I can remember.
“If you had let me handle the project then we wouldn’t be in this mess.” Eric, my half-brother, spoke up, he was seated beside me and as always, he didn’t care about how his words affected me, “this project holds too much of our life in its hand for it to be handed over to someone like Marcus with a track record of failure.”
My fists were clenched tightly under the table but I dare not say a word. In a family like mine, the only thing I could do was maintain my grim expression and a frown.
