Chapter 4. All Together
The chirping of the birds was heeded above, and the air was whacking, making dried leaves from the trees fall towards Clover’s standing. She opened her palms, and a brownish leaf fell on it, drawing a smile to her face despite the disappointment she got from the ceremony. She even called herself weak. Recalling this would always make her think of being buried alive or, worse, digging at the side of her parents’ grave so she would meet them when she died.
Clover crumbled the leaf and threw it to the side as she sighed. All knew she was the chosen daughter of the great Lucas and Arleth, but knowing she had no powers to show them, she doubted and thought she was nothing. Thoughts of avenging their deaths would always come to her mind. Yes, saying such a thing would always make her feel more substantial. However, the time she would think about her being powerless would weaken her knees.
