“Yes, I’m pregnant,” Leora said with a big smile on her face. “Why are you so surprised?” 

“B-but... Didn’t y-you....” 

My words got stuck in my throat. This was something that was very confusing to me. 

“Ah, I forgot to tell you. I’m getting married to Noah soon, but I don’t think I can invite you to my wedding, because my grandfather doesn’t want any strangers to potentially ruin the party,” Leora said calmly. 

It was obviously a mock at me, but what I was thinking about now was not that. I didn’t understand how Leora could be pregnant, even though I was sure that her relationship with Noah probably hadn’t been that long, while I had been married to her for a long time and she didn’t show any signs of pregnancy at all at that time.
