Chapter 5
Silver groaned as Mary fussed all over her and looked outside the window to her room, her heart yearning to be outside. The sun beckoned to her as its rays permeated the shields in her room, blinking at her and urging her to be brave and go for what she wanted.
Silver sighed in despair. If only it were that easy, she would have been brave and gone for a lot of things she desired, but some affairs were beyond her. There were a lot of things she could not do as the Princess of the Fern Pack due to her royal duties and also because Vincent, her brother and ruler of the pack, wouldn’t allow it.
Silver stole a peek at Mary, her maid, as she busied herself with setting food on a tray for her and wished she had Mary’s life at times. She knew it was an illogical wish as Mary had more obvious problems than she had, and she knew most of the females in the pack wanted to be like her. Immediately, she felt bad for being ungrateful, but she wished she had more freedom and wasn’t held
