Aiden couldn’t stop thinking about Cassie Moss even after he was done with his daily work at the company. After she’d given him coffee, he’d cooked up other excuses to see her, to be around her. He thought deeply about how she barely changed her countenance. He’d never even seen her smile. Perhaps she’d had a hard life—something he wouldn’t know much about as he was born into affluence. And even though his father had constantly picked him apart while he was a child, he didn’t think he could compare his pain to those of paupers.
