Aiden couldn’t stop thinking about Cassie Moss even after he was done with his daily work at the company. After she’d given him coffee, he’d cooked up other excuses to see her, to be around her. He thought deeply about how she barely changed her countenance. He’d never even seen her smile. Perhaps she’d had a hard life—something he wouldn’t know much about as he was born into affluence. And even though his father had constantly picked him apart while he was a child, he didn’t think he could compare his pain to those of paupers. His father had always ensured that his mother, Amber, and himself lived as lavishly as he could afford.
He put on his pajamas and slipped into his bed. His thoughts drifted from Cassie Moss to Minka Harris. He knew what the latter was capable of, and he felt that she’d become even more ruthless than before.
