Chapter 109. Depressed

Her question echoed in my mind, and I felt a wave of peace hit me, but I still don't think it was enough to save me from the world of emotional pain that I was in.

I stared at her, tears pricking my eyes. Then I smiled sadly before replying, “Why didn’t you say something?”

I scoffed. “You could have saved her! She was a damn kid!! She just—she just got married!” The tears rolled down my face freely, and the knot in my throat got harder. “You could have saved her,” I added, my voice breaking before sniffling and waiting for a response.
