Chapter 35. The Truth
We stopped in front of a door and the Elder took something out of his pocket, it was a key card. He placed it on the scanner that was on the door, causing it to make a small beep before opening.
“There are no cameras and no one’s allowed back here. It’s as private as private can get,” he said, flashing the woman a small smile before leaving us alone.
The woman walked into the room and I followed in after her tentatively. Once inside, I couldn’t help but look around. The space was stunning.
There were huge paintings on the walls, each one of an alpha who had led our pack. There were so many of them, generations of them actually.
The floor was marble and so clean and shiny that I could literally see my reflection. The furniture in here was all made of gold.
