Chapter 41. My New Home

The corners of my vision had started to darkened and I was getting weaker with each passing second. I kept trying; fighting to get the man to release me but he didn’t.

At this point, I was ready to tell the truth. I was ready to tell him what he wanted to know. But with the lack of oxygen, I was not even myself. 

Right when I felt like I was going to black out, he let go and I immediately started coughing, my throat in pain. Hot tears fell from my eyes as I placed my hands over where he had been choking me.

My heart was racing as if I was being chased by a wild animal. 

I coughed a few more times and then locked eyes with him. He was staring at me with an annoyed look on his face.

“I swear if I find out that you’re lying to me, I’m going to kill you,” he said before turning around and walking towards the door. He opened it and before stepping out, he added without looking at me, “And get to work!”

Then he slammed the door shut and left me alone
