Chapter 61. Confrontation

I was in Giveon’s sports car and we were headed to the Alpha’s house. I was seated next to him and he kept glancing at me after every few minutes.

Finally, he spoke up by asking, “When do you think all of this would be over?”

I looked at him and he looked back at the road, but I could tell that he still had his attention on me, even though his eyes were on the road now. 

“You mean the darkness and blood of rain?” I asked, wanting to make sure that he and I were on the same page.

He shook his head. “No, I’m talking about you talking to the alpha and all that. I know today’s your birthday and I don’t want you to spend it doing that. I have plans for us later.” He flashed me a quick smile before looking back at the road.

I was taken aback. “You have plans for us?” I could feel the butterflies in my stomach dancing, but I tried my best to play it cool.

“Yes. But let’s take care of everything else first, okay?”
