Chapter 83. Employment Contract

My heart was thundering in my chest and I was so scared. I stayed by the door in case I’d have to open it and run away. 

I wanted to be careful. And considering how I was feeling now, I think it would have been best for Giveon to come with me.

“So um…Kevin told me you wanted to talk?” I began. “Is everything okay?”

“You haven’t been to work in days, Sara.” He frowned, and my heart dropped. Did Kevin not talk to him about that? Then he suddenly started laughing. “You should see the look on your face.” He continued laughing.

Nothing seemed funny to me though, I was scared for my life. I wanted to be out of here as soon as I could. I forced a laugh though, and I didn’t even care if it sounded fake or not.

I just wanted to be out of there.
