For the past few days, all I had done was move around like a spineless creature, cry, and fold myself into my duvet like some sort of sorry mess which I think I was. Not once had he called, nor returned my call at least, for courtesy’s sake. I could not help thinking if he really was going to marry her now that there was a formal announcement.
And as usual, the news of their marriage was everywhere and everyone talked about it like they were talking about the Queen of England’s coronation. Right now, Yolanda who had been with me was currently reading aloud, “TODAY ON POP KULTURE: NEW YORK’S HIGH SOCIETY COUPLE SET TO OFFICIALLY BECOME MARRIED SHORTLY AFTER DEBUNKING SCANDAL RUMOUR!”
“Can you just stop reading that? It’s the same news and you’re starting to sound like a broken record.” I said under a muffled breath squeezing my nostrils into a tissue paper and tossing it into a basket placed beside the bed.
