Chapter 37. I Thought I Almost Lost You

Ben left to give us some privacy after seeing that she had gained consciousness. I sat down, holding onto her hand, thanking her that she was alright. She is just smiling down at me as she pats my hand. That was her way of saying she was alright.

“I really thought I lost you, Grandma,” I said, and she squeezed my hand in return.

“Oh please, you ain’t getting rid of me this soon. At least not till I see my grandchildren.” She comments snarkily.

I chuckle, “Well, you better live very long then.”

“Sure, sure. Although I was expecting you to refuse me directly and forget about grandkids.” She says.

I just smiled at her.

“I guess the both of you haven’t talked about kids yet.”

“Not really,” I said, remembering what he said about having kids, “but what I am a hundred percent sure about is that Phoenix is going to be a really good father; I just hope he will be able to see it, too.”

“It seems the both of you have healed your wounds now.”
