Chapter 7

Edmond woke up to the sound of his phone ringing so early in the morning. He tried to ignore the ringing but the phone kept ringing incessantly, forcing him to sit up. He answered the call and was greeted by the voice of his mother. It was then he realised he hadn't spoken with her since she broke the news to him.

"Morning, ma," he sighed and looked at the clock, it was five in the morning.

"Edmond, how are you?"

"I'm all right."

"I haven't heard from you in a while, no calls or texts or even pictures, hope you are fine, eh?"

"I'm fine. Why are you up so early?"

"I couldn't go back to sleep after I woke up by 2am so I waited till now so I could call you. I just wanted to hear your voice so I can be at rest."
