I glared at him, my vision swimming slightly from the alcohol in my system. My fangs were still extended, and I could feel the venom coursing through them, ready to strike if necessary. 

I did not really know it was venom and just raw power, but I could feel something in my fangs. “Get your hands off me,” I hissed, clutching the bottle tiger. 

“Lisa, you’re not thinking clearly,” Josh said softly, his tone more pleading than commanding. “You have had too much to drink, and you’re not in control right now.” 

“I’m in more control than you think,” I shot back, though even I was not sure if that was true. My head was spinning, and the room felt like it was tilting. I wanted to hold onto the bottle like it was my lifetime, but deep down, I knew it was only pulling me further into a dark place I was not sure I could climb out of.
