Chapter 231. Back at Josh's Mansion
The walk back up the hill felt heavy, the silence between us thick with unspoken words. I watched Josh from behind, his shoulders slumped, and his steps slow and unsure. He had bared his soul to me tonight, and now the weight of it all hung in the air like a fog that neither of us could see through.
I wonder if he regretted it. Not all the things he had done, I was talking about explaining it all to me, did he regret it?
We reached the top of the hill and then walked past the cabin. The lights were on outside but the ones inside were off, which led me to believe that no one was there. Because it was not even that late, a light should have been on inside there if someone was there.
