Chapter 54. Some News

“Please let go of me,” The nurse said to me and I breathed out a shaky sigh as I did. I apologized and she nodded as if she understood and had no problem whatsoever. But there was a look in her eyes, something that I could not decipher but I knew that it was not good. 

“Where is she?” I asked in the most polite tone that I could muster. “Where is my grandmother? She’s not in her room. Did she want a new scene? You know sometimes she can get that way.” I just kept talking until she stopped me. 

But it felt like I was holding my breath, waiting for an answer; waiting for the woman to tell me something that would ease my rising anxiety. 

“I need to talk to you somewhere private. Could you please wait in room 2A? I will be with you soon,” I said, but then tried to put me at ease by adding, “I promise.”
