Chapter 58. No Regrets
The hit was hard and seemed planned. I was on the floor and before I could even process what was happening, I felt a weight on top of me.
It was Grace. Our eyes made contact and all I could see in hers was pain. She had a wooden stick in her hand, without any hesitation, she lifted it and was ready to strike me in the heart.
But before she could do that, I pushed her off me and she flew backwards, her body hitting the standing mirror not too far from us.
A loud crash echoed in the house and I was on my feet in no time. Breathing deeply, I tried to keep my eyes on her and calm her down. “Hey, hey! I’m not here to hurt you, I’m only here to talk!”
She chuckled darkly as she tried to gain her composure. There was no way she was going to calmly talk to me, she wanted a fight. She wanted revenge, she wanted me dead.
I watched her stand to her feet, some shards from the mirror had pierced her skin, causing small cuts and tears.
