Chapter 60. Paperwork

The car ride was quiet and the music had died. The guy did not bother to try to put on something else, he just followed the GPS to where I had told him that I was going.

After a few minutes more of silence, he finally spoke, “My name is Josh, if you’re wondering.” He glanced at me for a quick second before looking back at the road. 

I looked at him and smirked. “I was not wondering,” I replied, my voice laced with humor. 

He let out a hearty laugh and I could not help but laugh too. “Oh, so that's how it is, huh?” He was still laughing. 

“It is what it is.” I shrugged. “I'm a celebrity, remember? I’m trending on Twitter.” I held back the laugh that was at the tip of my tongue. 

He on the other hand did not hold back his laugh, he laughed freely and I soon joined him, the moment distracting me from everything that was going on in my life. 

It felt good, it felt freeing. I liked it.

Soon, our laughter died and silence loomed
